We refer to a process of aging as patina. We know the term from many things in our lives. The furniture that has acquired a different color due to its age, the watch that has received a few scratches from being worn, the building that has faded a bit, etc. We speak benevolently of patina for all of these things. Patina has a positive connotation. So we give it a better value than the object had when it was new.

When it comes to shoes, the topic of patina is omnipresent. It has been with us for generations, especially in the men's shoe sector. When it comes to shoes, patina is traditionally seen as a sign of good care and appreciation. The color changes and new tones and new color gradients emerge. This used to be an indication that the shoe had been owned for many years and had been carefully looked after. Today, this patina is sometimes already created in new products. Who doesn't know the new jeans on the shelf that are partially washed out and have tears. This used to be a sign that the jeans had been worn for many years. Today it is bought in this “used look”. This only happens because we attribute added value to this so-called patina.

We have patina or maturity in people, as well as in perfumes. These also mature and often produce a new, better scent impression.

As a tribute to the many things that gain value through patina and because patina is an omnipresent topic in men's shoes, we have given the new Roberto Ugolini fragrance this esteemed name.

Patina, the new fragrance by Roberto Ugolini, is part of the Extrait collection. This is where the special recipes are composed with a very high concentration of fragrance oil.   In the case of patina, this is a fragrance oil content of 30%.

The Patina scent is a classic amber scent with a special twist.

Amber fragrances, not to be confused with Ambergris or ambergris as an ingredient, are accords that create a warm, woody impression reminiscent of amber. Amber fragrances are very popular and thus rank among the top categories of fragrance types.

Patina is my interpretation of an amber scent. Classic amber chords meet a fruity twist. In this case the mango. The fruit accords of the mango, which itself is a very sweet and warm note, go perfectly with the classic amber note.

The scent starts with a distinct, warm amber note and a pushing fruitiness. At the beginning, it is very influenced by the fruit, but over time it will increasingly develop in this classic Amber direction.

The mango combined with the honey creates a sweet scent impression that is supported by the floral note of Ylang-Ylang.

In the heart, as usual with me, the Iris together with gentle Gurjum balsam and strong Guaiac wood.

The base is characterized by sweet Notes of vanilla and a potent amount of sandalwood.
